One of the hallmarks of moving is stuff. You’ve got stuff, you need to move it, and you may not have a place to put all your belongings, so you need to store it. From downsizing to a gap in time from place to place, there are many reasons you may need to take advantage of moving storage. 

Store your belongings from days to years.  Our AirVan North American team offers several options to best fit your unique moving and storage service needs and budget.

When you’re not ready for delivery of your goods until a later date, we  will take your items to a certified agent warehouse location, offload your items and place them into storage vaults stacked inside of the warehouse. Your belongings will remain in storage until you’re ready for delivery. We do all the work for you – you just make the call to coordinate a delivery date. 

If you’re on a tight budget or need immediate access to your belongings while they’re in storage, self-storage (or DIY storage) may be right for you. AirVan North American will take your items to the self-storage facility of your choice and unload for you. We can also come back to load and deliver your items when you’re ready to move them.

Not sure what storage option is right for you?  There is no right or wrong choice, and the decision should be based more on which option is best for your unique situation.  If you are looking for the easiest option with the least amount of effort, then Storage-in-Transit at one of our professional northAmerican agent warehouses is the right choice.  Storage-in-Transit may be the most expensive, but it will include liability coverage on your belongings (if you buy the coverage) and will include the cost to load or deliver your items to your new home.  A drawback to Storage-in-Transit is that access to your items will be limited, but can be accommodated with advanced notice.  Due to the labor and liability involved, there is normally a cost to access your items.  

If you need regular, unscheduled access to your items, then self-storage may be the better option for your storage needs.  The main drawback to self-storage over Storage-in-Transit has a lot to do with liability.  When your items are in self-storage, you will need to obtain your own coverage to insure your items while they are in storage.  The other detail to note is that all moving companies will terminate their liability for damages after your items are delivered to a self-storage location.  This means that you will need to do a thorough inspection at the time of delivery to your self-storage unit before signing any paperwork from your moving company.  You will also be responsible for moving your items from the self-storage unit to your new residence or hire a local company to help.
